March 2019
Our first passage on the new boat started in Delray Beach and ended in Cape Canaveral FL. The best place to get out to the Atlantic had us traveling south for several hours on the ICW to Oregon Inlet. After several hours of watching the depth gauge so as not to run aground, and waiting for bridges to open, we finally made it out to the Atlantic. The first part of the trip was idyllic with 15 knot westerlies which kept us sailing on a wonderful beam reach heading north. And when we got a bit further out into the Gulf Stream, we were suddenly doing 10 knots. Then of course the wind died and we wound up motoring for the next day and a half.
